Favorite Drugstore Contour and Highlight Products PART TWO: Concealer

Hello Glam Dolls,
How is your week going so far?? The weather we have been having in Canada feels like fall and not summer. I love the warm weather, but I cannot wait to wear darker lip colors and buy some new warm winter clothes.

Today I will be talking about drugstore concealers that I like to use to conceal and highlight my under eye area with in my contour and highlight routine. They are all very inexpensive and easy to get your hands on.

I am a concealer girl. I love it. There is nothing more attractive than a bright under eye. I have tried out a lot of different ones, and it was really hard for me to pick out a few to show you all, so do not be surprised if there is another concealer post sometime in the future.

When you are going to highlight using a concealer you should make sure it is lighter than your skin tone. I always say light and bright is the way to go. The colors that I will be mentioning may not flatter your skin tone, so make sure you test out your shades before you buy them.

Some people have a love hate relationship with the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealers, but I personally love them. They are very full coverage(I have dark under eye circles) and they give you a beautiful highlight. The only problem is that they do not have a whole lot of colors to choose from. If you can find your shade I say give them a try. They are very inexpensive and you can find them pretty much anywhere you live. A few tips I would like to share with you when working with this product is to make sure you do not apply too much. It can easily get cakey because it is a heavy concealer. Less is more. Last tip would be to make sure you set your under eye area right after you blend this out to avoid creasing. I usually bake my concealer when I use this. (If you would like me to do a video or post on how I bake my concealer, please comment below or let me know on twitter or instagram.)

I buy mine in the colors ultra light and light.

One of my absolute favorite concealers is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. It blends out flawlessly. They have a decent shade selection and I love the sponge applicator tip. The “neutralizer” shade is my favorite. It is meant to be worn underneath another concealer, but I just wear it by itself. It has a beautiful yellow undertone and makes the under eye area look so nice, bright and very awake. The other shade I purchase this in is fair. This is not a cakey or heavy concealer at all., but provides great coverage.

I have dark under eye circles, so I am all about the yellow correcting concealers. The beauty of yellow concealer is that not only does it correct but it brightens. Two of my favorites are the Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer in yellow and the NYX Above&Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in yellow. After I apply either one of them I put a small amount of another concealer over top and it gives a great highlighted look. These are both heavy products, so make sure to set them well.

The L'Oreal Magic Lumi and the Maybelline Dream Lumi concealers are both really great for brightening up the under eye area. I do not use these products by themselves. I always wear them over top of another product. I love a highly concealed under eye  and these do not provide enough coverage for me. However, the highlight they create is amazing. If you want to just use one then I would suggest the Maybelline Dream Lumi. I find it has a bit more coverage. They are both light feeling on the skin.

I purchase the L'Oreal Lumi in Fair and the Maybelline Dream Lumi in Ivory.

Flower makes a really nice concealer. I buy mine in the lightest shade available and it has a hint of a yellow undertone. I love the highlight I get from this. Sadly they do not have a lot of colors to choose from at my walmart location but it might be different for where you are from. It gives a nice medium coverage.

The Rimmel London Match Perfection 2 in 1 concealer and highlight is AMAZING. It offers good coverage and a great highlight. It is not overly heavy but can crease a bit. If you use a good setting powder right after you apply this than you shouldn't have too many problems. I buy mine in the shade 230 fair.

My all time favorite hands down is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 15 fair. I love everything about this. I love how bright it is and I love the consistency and coverage of the product.

I have tried a lot of different concealers and I have yet to find one that does not crease. I do find I have a lot of problems with fine lines and dark circles under my eyes, so it is not really all that shocking. I always make sure to apply an eye cream before I highlight and always set the area really well. I should also mention that I also highlight my chin, middle on my nose, and a small portion of my forehead with all of the concealers I talked about in today's post.

Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post.
