Affordable Face Of The Day/First Impression (NYX Highlight&Contour Pro Palette.)

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you an affordable makeup look. You do not have to break the bank in order to look glam.

I also would like to share with you my thoughts on the NYX Highlight&Contour Pro Palette that I bought yesterday. Today was my first time trying it.

To start off, I sprayed my face generously with my rose water setting spray. There is a DIY that I did for you guys on here on how to make this.

I always apply an eye cream before I do my makeup. Today I used the Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle eye cream.

Face Primer- Hard Candy Lift&Firm Primer.
Eye Primer- Essence I <3 Stage Eyeshadow Base.
Foundation- Rimmel Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Full Coverage Foundation.

This foundation is so amazing, and offers great coverage.

Concealer (Under Eye)- Hard Candy Glamoflauge in the color Ultra Light.
Concealer (To Sculpt Out Brows)- Hard Candy Glamoflauge in the color Medium Light.

Setting Powder- NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder in Translucent.

Brows- Kiss brow powder.

I mix the wax and the powders together. I will do a brow tutorial sometime in the near future.

Shadows- BH Cosmetics Neutral Eyes Palette.

Eyeliner- Essence Gel Eyeliner in the color Midnight In Paris.

Mascara- L'Oreal Double Extend.

Contour And Highlight- NYX Highlight&Contour Pro Palette.

Blush- Joe Fresh Powder Blush in Hydrangea.

Lips- L.A Colors Lip Liner in Chocolate.

First Impression of the NYX Highlight&Contour Pro Palette

I find it hard to believe that this is a drugstore product. The powders are super pigmented and really easy to blend. I LOVE the two shimmer highlights. They give you an amazing glow without being too over powering.

I think that this palette would be great for pros and beginners alike. I really enjoyed the under eye setting powders. They make the under eye area nice and bright, which is the look I like going for.

Thank you all so much for reading. I will talk to you in my next post.

Vegan “What I Eat In A Day.” #2

Hello Glam Dolls.
Welcome back to another “What I Eat In A Day” post. I just wanted to point out that I did not include the tea I drank today, because I plan on doing a post soon about what teas I love to drink and get into some of the health benefits of each one.

Every morning when I wake up I drink a big glass of lemon water.

After I was done, I made myself a delicious smoothie. This one had two frozen bananas, one ripe banana, frozen pineapple, cacao powder, rice milk, and chia seeds. This is an amazing combo.

You can use vanilla rice milk if you like.

For lunch I made a quinoa salad. I cooked the quinoa with some green onion, and then after it cooled I added some edamame beans, raisins, sunflower seeds, and red onion.

This salad is very filling, and an amazing source of healthy protein.

As a snack I had some of the Panda All Natural Raspberry Licorice. This stuff is sooo addicting!

For supper I wanted a big salad. I always try and add different things to my salads to keep it interesting.

Tonight I took one head of romaine and some iceburg lettuce and used that as my base. Then I added one whole mango, avocado, red onion, black beans, black olives, sunflower seeds, and hemp seeds.

For a dressing I added some organic salsa on top with a piece of lemon on the side.

I made a sweet potato to go along with it.

Thank you all so much for reading. I will talk to you in my next post!

Weekly Favorites

Hello Glam Dolls,
Welcome back to another weekly favorites. I hope you all have an amazing week.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter

This lotion has shea butter, collagen, elastin, and vitamin e in it. I really love this. It says that it is suppose to tighten the skin after pregnancy and weight loss. I have lost a lot of weight over the past few years, so I do have that problem.

This does help. You have to use it on a daily basis to see a difference. I usually put a body oil on, and then layer this over top of it. I do this right before I go to bed. It also makes your skin nice and soft, and it smells delicious.

St. Ives Timeless Skin Mineral Clay Mask.

This mask is suppose to visibly firm and tighten skin. I have used this mask off and on for a long time. You do notice a difference. The only thing is, is that it can dry your skin out. So, what I like to do is right after I use it I spray my face with rose water, and then I put on a moisturizer. If you do that, you shouldn't have any problems.

    Witch Hazel

I read online a week or so ago that witch hazel can tighten pores. I have been trying it out. I have noticed a small change. I will keep up with it and let you all know my final thoughts in about a month. I apply a small amout to a cotton pad and gently dab it on my problem pore areas. I let it dry in, and then I apply a moisturizer, I do not use this everyday. I use it every other day.

Pure Ice Polish in the color Taupe Drawer.

If you follow me on instagram or twitter (@kategoesglam) then you seen that I painted my nails this color last night. It is the prettiest color. I am going to do my toes in this tonight.

         .M.A.C Strobe Cream

I LOVE using this underneath my foundation! It makes you look so nice and dewy! It gives you that “glow from within look.”

L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray

This is my go to hairspray. I love that it gives great hold, but doesn't make your hair stiff and crunchy. This is a great drugstore hair product! The smell is beautiful. I always make sure to have a few bottles of this on hand. I don't like using anything else. I prefer this over high end salon brands.

Thank you so much for reading. I will talk to you all in my next post.

Vegan “What I Eat In A Day”

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today is my first ever Vegan "What I Eat In A Day” post. I have been vegan for awhile now, and I was vegetarian for years before hand. I love this lifestyle, and I want to show you that eating vegan doesn't have to be difficult or overly expensive. If you have any questions concerning veganism, or about the food I am eating, please let me know, and I will do my best to try and answer them for you.

In the morning as soon as I wake up, I have a big glass of lemon water. I drink it throughout the day as well. I do not drink soda, or anything like that. If I have juice, I squeeze it myself. I usually prefer to just eat the fruit instead.

I find that where I drink a lot of lemon water it pays off to buy the Santa Cruz Organic 100% lemon juice. It is just pure lemon. This bottle lasts me a little over a week, and it is $5.00.

Breakfast: Vegan Silver Hills rappleberry bagel with PC Organics Peanut Butter, and one cut up banana.

PC is a brand sold in Canada. This peanut butter is my favorite, and it doesn't have any added sugar or oil.

Snack: I ate breakfast around 8:30am. Around 11:00am I got hungry, so I decided to make my favorite snack. Frozen edamame. All I do is put some in a bowl and heat them up in the microwave. They are such an amazing source of protein and they taste great. I sprinkle a little bit of sea salt on them when they are still hot. So satisfying!

Lunch: I usually try to have a salad somewhere during the day. Today's salad was really simple. I cut up one whole head of romaine lettuce and topped it with chopped red onion, tomato, and hemp seeds. I had a baked sweet potato on the side.

I don't use pre-made dressing. I usually just use lemon and pepper, which is what I did today.

Today during lunch I planned out some blog posts in the new planner I got. I love this planner. It's so cute!

While I cook dinner I like to have a tea. I find it very soothing. Tonight I had the Tea Squared kombucha detox tea.

Dinner: Tonight for dinner I decided to make Vegbethany's “Kabocha Squash Soup.” I didn't use the exact ingredients, but it was similar.

All I did was cut up one medium size squash and put it in a pot with some water. I added fresh grated ginger, sea salt, cumin, one large onion, and green onion in with the squash and boiled it all together until the squash was cooked.

When it is done, add it to a blender, and blend until smooth.

I made two pieces of vegan sourdough toast with avocado, and steamed spinach to go with it.

Snack: A few hours after dinner I cut up a large apple and ate it with some sunflower seed butter. I sprinkled cinnamon on top of it.

Thank you all so much for reading. I will talk to you in my next post.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (For Nose And Face)

Hello Glam Dolls,
Biore offers some really amazing products, and they are all easily available at the drugstore. Over the past few months I have been trying out a lot of their skin care items. My plan is to try them out and review them all for you. When I am done testing out all of the products I have purchased, I will be doing one big post on what I though of them, and which ones I will continue to use.

The three products I will be reviewing for you today I have already repurchased. I consider them to be staples in my skin care routine, and some of my favorite things to use during my spa nights at home.

The products I will be talking about are:

Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips (For Nose)
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (For Nose)
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (For Face)

Basically, what the strips do is stick onto your skin and clean out all of the dirt and oil that cause blackheads. It might sound gross, but I think that all three of these are very helpful when you are trying to achieve smaller pores and clear skin. They work wonders.

I purchased all three of these at Walmart for under $10.00 per box.

BIORE DEEP CLEANSING CHARCOAL PORE STRIPS ( FOR NOSE)

The charcoal pore strips unclog pores and draw out excess oil. They are dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. They are made with natural charcoal.

On the back of the package it says that you will notice 3x less oil. I do get oily around my nose area, and these strips have helped a lot with that problem. I find that the charcoal ones remove more than the regular nose strips by Biore, but I enjoy them both.

BIORE DEEP CLEANSING PORE STRIPS (FOR NOSE)

They unclog pores and helps you achieve the deepest clean. I feel like these ones are more gentle than the charcoal ones, but they are still highly effective. They are dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and oil free. When the strips are used on a weekly basis, they help reduce the look of pores.

BIORE DEEP CLEANSING PORE STRIPS ( FOR FACE)

Finally, a product that actually works for removing blackheads from the forehead and chin area. Not only do they work at unclogging pores, but they help reduce the look of pores.

They are also dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and oil free.

Remember when you are using these to wet the area well, because the strips will not stick to dry skin.

I know as women we tend to not take enough time out for ourselves. We get busy, and sometimes we don't have as much time to spend on our beauty routine as we would like. The convenient thing about these three skin care products is that you apply them for 10-15 minutes, and then remove them. You can just set a timer and go about what you were doing until it's time to take them off.

I have seen great results with all three. They are inexpensive, and they work!

I use them once a week. I rotate between the charcoal nose strips and the other deep cleansing pore strips. If one week I use the charcoal ones, the next week I will use the other ones. Whenever I do the nose strips, I do the deep cleansing strips for the face too. I apply them to my forehead and my chin. That way it all gets done on the same day.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post. I will talk to you in my next one.

If you end up trying these, or you already have, let me know what you think of them.

How I Have Been Removing My Makeup

Hello Glam Dolls,
I have been testing out an amazing product, and it's from the drugstore! I had to share it with my girlfriends.

I have been loving the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil. This product contains grapeseed, jojoba, and rosehip oils. It also has vitamin C and cocoa butter in it.
It is free of mineral oil, parabens, and phthalates.

It is recommended for all skin types.

This product is so gentle, and it deep cleans without stripping your skin.

One thing that I really love about this is that it does not clog your pores.

I have been using this to remove my makeup. It works amazing!

All I do is wet my face, and then I take one pump of it onto my hands. I rub them together, and then I start to gently massage it in using circular motions.

When it comes to the eye area, I use gentle zig zag motions.

Sometimes you have to add a bit more water to your hands.

I love how this makes my skin feel. It removes all traces of my makeup, and it makes my skin feel so soft and clean.

I purchased this product for under $10.00 at Walmart.

I do not have to go in with another cleanser if I don't want to after using this.

Thank you all so much for reading. I will talk to you in my next post.

If you have any post requests, please let me know in the comments below.

Polish On A Budget: Pure Ice

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you my favorite affordable nail polishes. Pure Ice is a brand I discovered at Walmart awhile ago and I have been in love with it ever since. They retail for a little under $2.00, and they have a huge color selection.

Sometimes when you buy cheaper nail polish it tends to dry up and get clumpy. I have not had that problem with these. I prefer this brand over some of the more expensive polishes I have. It does not bubble or chip quickly on me.

These are an amazing and affordable addition to add to your beauty product collection.

One product from them that really stood out to me is their matte top coat. It is by far one of my favorite ones I have tried, and it's less than $2.00!!

I will soon be doing a post on how to do an at home mani/pedi, and I will be featuring one of these polishes in that post so you can see what they look like on the nails.

  2. Shell Pink 314 CP

Weekly Favorites

Hello Glam Dolls,
It's Monday! That means it's time for my weekly favorites. Let's get right into it!

The first product I would like to talk about is for your hair. It's the Redken Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow-Dry Lotion.

This lotion offers heat protection and controls frizz. I have been using this for years. It does not leave your hair greasy or hard. I payed $22.00 for this at a local salon. Price will depend on where you live. It is worth every penny. A bottle lasts for a really long time, because you do not need to use much on your hair.

The next product I have been loving is vitamin E skin oil. I purchased this at Walmart for under $5.00. I won't get too detailed with this, because I want to do a separate post on it.

Vitamin E oil is so amazing for your skin, and it is versatile as well. It it great for wrinkles, dry skin, softening your cuticles, and it also works amazing on dry lips. I use this on my under eye area every night.

I have been loving these four lipsticks recently. I really like nude colors. I personally think all of these shades are great for everyday wear, and they look nice with all different kinds of makeup looks. They are also very affordable, all of them coming in at under $10.00.

Thank you so much for reading. I will talk to you all in my next post.

Budget Friendly Fragrance Options. Part Two: Victoria's Secret Dupes

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you some Victoria's Secret fragrance alternatives. These fragrances are very affordable and smell pretty close to the originals.

If you are on a budget, you can still have that feeling of glam, and the sexiness that VS has to offer.

I love all of the ones I have in my collection so far. I wear them often. They look beautiful on display, and more importantly, the scent is long lasting. They range anywhere from $3.00-$5.00. It's very easy to grow your perfume collection with such amazing prices.

All of them smell very sexy and seductive. I am still collecting them, and I am always on the look out for new ones.

I have had a few other people smell these and they agree with me that they are pretty close to the actual VS scents. This is based on my opinion, you may not feel the same. I just want to show you that there are alternatives out there and they are very nice.

I would also like to add that the decor I used in my pictures for this post was purchased from the dollar store.

There are two places that I purchase these fragrances. I get them from the Dollarama and Giant Tiger, here in Canada. I have seen these available online to purchase as well if you are not from Canada.

There will be a part three to this post soon. These two brands make other designer fragrance dupes, and I have a pretty large collection of them.

Thank you all so much for reading, and I will talk to you all in my next post.

Want to grow out your brows?

Hello Glam Dolls,
I hope you are all doing good. Tonight I want to share with you a product I have been using to grow out my brows. I have been using it for a long time, and I have seen an amazing difference.

I use castor oil on my brows 1-2 times a day. My brows use to be really sparse. They aren't exactly where I want them right now, but I am beyond happy with the progress. This isn't going to be a quick fix. You have to stay consistent with it. Use it everyday, and try to use it more than once a day.

How I use this product:
  1. Make sure you do not have any makeup on and your brows are free from product.
  2. Apply a small amount to the tip of your finger.
  3. Gently massage it in the hairs of your brows.
  4. After each use, rinse off your brows with warm water to remove the oil.

You can use a clean mascara wand to apply this. I have just always used my finger.

I payed about $4.00 for a 100ml bottle at my local grocery store.

I swear by castor oil. I wish I would have taken a before picture so you could have seen how thin my brows actually were. They would not grow on their own. I started tweezing my brows when I was really young and it ruined them. I am so glad that they are growing and taking on a great shape now.

If you end up trying this out, let me know. I will take picture of my brows now, and I will compare them in a month or so. I will also do another post to keep you all updated.

Thank you all so much for reading my little post tonight. I will talk to you in the next one.

My Go To Acne Product

Hello Glam Dolls,
I get asked a lot of questions about what products I suggest for acne prone skin. I do not suffer from acne. I do however get the occasional breakout when I am close to getting my period. There is one product that I use and swear by. I have recently had to buy a new one, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share it with you all.

The Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick with tea tree leaf oil is a life saver. It is made up of 10 essential oils, and it helps to make your skin nice and clear.

About the product:
*Comes in a glass tube with a roller ball.
*It smells amazing.
*It costs around $10.00.
*The product lasts for a very long time.
*Not tested on animals .

I find that this product works the best if you use it as they direct you to. You apply it 2-3 times a day to the affected area.

I have sensitive skin, and I have never had a problem with this product causing irritation.

Clear Skin Tips:
*Drink plenty of water and eat right.
*Do not touch your face, and if you do, always make sure your hands are clean.
*Keep your face washed. Do this at least twice a day.
*Keep your makeup brushes clean.
*Keep your cell phone clean. We do not think about how dirty they get, and we are constantly putting them by our face.
*If you are having a breakout, make sure you change your pillowcases frequently.

Thank you all so much for reading. I will talk to you all in my next post.
