Favorite Drugstore Contour and Highlight Products PART THREE: Drugstore/Affordable Contour Brushes

Using the right contour brush is just as important as using the right contouring products. Everyone has different brushes they like to work with. What I like to use might not be a right fit for you, but I really want to share with you these drugstore/affordable options that really work well for me. Maybe they will work well for you too.

The first one I would like to mention is my holey grail brush. This changed my contouring game. This is the Contour Brush from the Real techniques Your Base/Flawless Core Collection. This brush is so soft and gives a beautiful contour.

The next three brushes I am going to mention are all from BH Cosmetics. They are from the Sculpt and Blend 10 Piece Brush Set. These brushes are amazing. They are great quality. The set is a great investment. It is on sale right now on the BH Cosmetics site for $20.00USD. It's a great deal and they will last you such a long time. I have had mine for almost a year and they are still just as great as the day I first day I got them.

This brush is such a steal. I got this for around $5.00CAD off of ebay. I wasn't sure what the quality was going to be like but it is fantastic. It is so soft and gives a perfect, fool proof contour. I cannot remember the sellers name, but if you type in contour brushes it should pop up.

This is the Eco Tools Stippling brush. I got this at Walmart for around $8.00. I love the nice contour this gives me. No it is not a traditional contouring brush, but it makes my contour come out beautifully.

There are lots of affordable options. You just have to look around and see what works for you. I hope you all enjoyed this post and I will talk to you all in my next one.

Girl Talk: My Feminine Hygiene Routine

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional when it comes to this topic. I am only offering advice on what I know and what has worked for me. I apologize if any of you find this topic offensive.

Hello Glam Dolls!
How was your weekend? Mine was really great. Did a bit of shopping and went on a small road trip on Saturday. One thing I can tell you is that it went by way too fast.

I have just recently repurchased some of my feminine hygiene products, so I thought that this would be a great time to get this post up and talk with all of you about it. I really hope you enjoy this post. I love talking about this topic. It all has to do with feeling beautiful and good about yourself. I want us to all feel comfortable with one another talking about things like this. If we cannot talk bout this with one another, who can we talk to it about?

To start off, I think that as women we should all have a feminine hygiene routine of some sort. It is very important especially where we get our periods every month to stay fresh and clean. I really do not see the point of taking the time to do our makeup and hair and then have this part of your beauty regimen go unkept.

I have a very simple routine. But is is effective. I use inexpensive products that you can purchase at the drugstore.

The first thing I want to talk to you all about is shaving down there. Sometimes I wax, but most of the time I shave. The shaving cream that causes the least amount of razor burn and irritation for me is the EOS Shave Cream. I have the 24 hours of deep moisture in Vanilla Bliss. This is a very rich shaving cream. It has a lotion feel and works really great.

What I use to shave is disposable razors. I either get the bikini razors, or just the normal full size ones. I really do not like using the same razor I shave the rest of my body with to shave down there. I find it unsanitary. With these you can throw them out after each use. I purchase both of mine at my local dollar store. Remember when it comes to this sort of thing it is all personal preference. You can all do what works for you, I am just sharing with you what works best for me and my routine.

After I shave or wax I always apply either aloe vera gel or the Johnson's baby oil gel with aloe and vitamin e down there. It helps prevent razor burn or any kind of irritation. This is a holey grail product in my routine. It is a life saver!

Something that I find to be really important are wipes. I use three different kinds. I use Unscented, hypoallergenic, alcohol free baby wipes, Always Clean individual wipes, and the Summer's Eve Simply Sensitive cleansing cloths.

I use baby wipes after I use the washroom. It's important to keep yourself smelling good.

The always wipes are great for when you have your period and you are on the go. They are individually wrapped, so you can just throw them in your purse. They are discrete, and do not take up a lot of room in your bag.

The Summer's Eve cleansing clothes are great for when you have your period. They make you feel super fresh and are really gentle.

When it comes to washing, there are only two products I ever use. I use the Dove Unscented Beauty Bar or the Summer's Eve Delicate Cleansing Wash For Sensitive Skin.

There is a lot of controversy around using feminine washes. I do not use mine every day. I only use it when I am on my period. I feel really gross and I like to feel nice and clean, so the Summer's Eve wash really helps with that. I use the Dove Unscented Beauty Bar the rest of the time.

I have not had any problems with feminine washes. However, I do not use them everyday.

I use both pads and tampons. I do not stick with a specific brand. If I am having a heavier flow one months I will wear pads. If I have a lighter flow, I use tampons. It is just my personal preference. There is no right or wrong when it comes to this sort of thing. On the last few days of my period, when it is barely there, I always use panty liners. It's always important to have different ones on hand. I always make sure I have the regular panty liners and the panty liners you can wear with thong panties.

Again, I do not stick with a specific brand. When it comes to the thong panty liners tho I always use the Always Thin Thong panty liners. They work great and do not move around all that much.

I always make sure I have extra pads, tampons, and panty liners in my purse. You never know when you might need them. You can get a separate little bag for them. That way if you have to take them to the washroom it is more discrete, if you care about that sort or thing.

The last thing I want to talk about with you lovely ladies about is feminine deodorant spray. It is a spray that you use down there. I could not get by without this. It just makes you feel so much better. This is great for when you are on your period. I use this every morning, when I get out of the shower, and sometimes touch up throughout the day. I love feeling fresh and smelling nice and clean.

When I use this I do not hold the bottle directly pointed on her, I hold it back and give a good spray. I also like to spray my panties with this, especially if I am on my period.

If you are not into sprays, you can also use a feminine powder. I do not keep a powder on hand all the time now since I found the Summer's Eve Deodorant Spray. The one I use to buy, and that I really love is the Shower To Shower Morning Fresh Powder with Lavender. Both are really wonderful products.

Well ladies I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you have any feminine hygiene products you cannot live without, please do not be scared to let me know. We're all girlfriends here. I am always looking for new products to add to my routine.

If you would like to connect with me on Twitter or Instagram, I am under kategoesglam on both of my accounts. I would love to talk with you all!

My Skin Care Routine (Night time)

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you my night time skin care routine. I use a lot of different products, but these are the products I have been using on a regular basis lately. I use really affordable products and everything I am going to mention is easily available at the drugstore. Lets get right into it :)

The first thing I do at the end of the night is remove my makeup. I like to use a mixture of products to do this, but lately I have been really loving the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Radiance Sensational Cleansing Oil or the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution. Both of these are really great products and I highly re recommend both of these.

After I am done removing my makeup I cleanse my face. I have been trying out the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Fresh Purifying Gel Wash. I am really impressed with this so far. I use my Olay Facial Cleaning Brush with this and it works really great. Your skin gets nice and clean and the cleaner itself makes the skin nice and soft.

When I am all done cleansing my skin I go right into exfoliating. I have recently been using the L'Oreal Sublime Radiance Revealing Exfoliator. This is a great product if you find that you have dull skin. The exfoliating beads are not harsh and do not over exfoliate the skin.

The next step in my skin care routine is to tone my face. One of my all time favorite toners to use is the Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner. I see a big difference in my skin when I use this on a daily basis. It smells really strong but it works wonders.

I like to use a treatment in my skin care routine. The one that I have recently purchased and have been loving is the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. This products claims to minimize the pores and brighten skin. It is also good for fine lines and wrinkles. It also says that it will smooth and calm the skin. I have been really enjoying this so far.

I always apply a night time moisturizer. I like to use the Olay Total Effect 7 in one Tone Correcting Night Moisturizer. This moisturizer helps against the seven signs of aging which are fine lines and wrinkles, lack of firmness, uneven tone, discoloration, uneven texture, dryness, and dullness. This is amazing and highly effective.

The other moisturizer I really enjoy is the Jamieson Pro Vitamina Retinol Renewal Night cream. This helps improve skin texture and helps reduce the signs of aging if you use it on a regular basis. It is hypoallergenic and paraben-free.

The last step in my night time skin care routine is an eye cream. Right now I am using the Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle eye cream. This makes my eye area really nice and smooth.

That is all of the products I have been using right now at night. I change up my products a lot. When I switch things up again I will do an updated skincare routine. The products that I mentioned today that I have not reviewed yet will be getting their own separate review in the near future. I hope you all enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading.

Favorite Drugstore Contour and Highlight Products PART TWO: Concealer

Hello Glam Dolls,
How is your week going so far?? The weather we have been having in Canada feels like fall and not summer. I love the warm weather, but I cannot wait to wear darker lip colors and buy some new warm winter clothes.

Today I will be talking about drugstore concealers that I like to use to conceal and highlight my under eye area with in my contour and highlight routine. They are all very inexpensive and easy to get your hands on.

I am a concealer girl. I love it. There is nothing more attractive than a bright under eye. I have tried out a lot of different ones, and it was really hard for me to pick out a few to show you all, so do not be surprised if there is another concealer post sometime in the future.

When you are going to highlight using a concealer you should make sure it is lighter than your skin tone. I always say light and bright is the way to go. The colors that I will be mentioning may not flatter your skin tone, so make sure you test out your shades before you buy them.

Some people have a love hate relationship with the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealers, but I personally love them. They are very full coverage(I have dark under eye circles) and they give you a beautiful highlight. The only problem is that they do not have a whole lot of colors to choose from. If you can find your shade I say give them a try. They are very inexpensive and you can find them pretty much anywhere you live. A few tips I would like to share with you when working with this product is to make sure you do not apply too much. It can easily get cakey because it is a heavy concealer. Less is more. Last tip would be to make sure you set your under eye area right after you blend this out to avoid creasing. I usually bake my concealer when I use this. (If you would like me to do a video or post on how I bake my concealer, please comment below or let me know on twitter or instagram.)

I buy mine in the colors ultra light and light.

One of my absolute favorite concealers is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. It blends out flawlessly. They have a decent shade selection and I love the sponge applicator tip. The “neutralizer” shade is my favorite. It is meant to be worn underneath another concealer, but I just wear it by itself. It has a beautiful yellow undertone and makes the under eye area look so nice, bright and very awake. The other shade I purchase this in is fair. This is not a cakey or heavy concealer at all., but provides great coverage.

I have dark under eye circles, so I am all about the yellow correcting concealers. The beauty of yellow concealer is that not only does it correct but it brightens. Two of my favorites are the Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer in yellow and the NYX Above&Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in yellow. After I apply either one of them I put a small amount of another concealer over top and it gives a great highlighted look. These are both heavy products, so make sure to set them well.

The L'Oreal Magic Lumi and the Maybelline Dream Lumi concealers are both really great for brightening up the under eye area. I do not use these products by themselves. I always wear them over top of another product. I love a highly concealed under eye  and these do not provide enough coverage for me. However, the highlight they create is amazing. If you want to just use one then I would suggest the Maybelline Dream Lumi. I find it has a bit more coverage. They are both light feeling on the skin.

I purchase the L'Oreal Lumi in Fair and the Maybelline Dream Lumi in Ivory.

Flower makes a really nice concealer. I buy mine in the lightest shade available and it has a hint of a yellow undertone. I love the highlight I get from this. Sadly they do not have a lot of colors to choose from at my walmart location but it might be different for where you are from. It gives a nice medium coverage.

The Rimmel London Match Perfection 2 in 1 concealer and highlight is AMAZING. It offers good coverage and a great highlight. It is not overly heavy but can crease a bit. If you use a good setting powder right after you apply this than you shouldn't have too many problems. I buy mine in the shade 230 fair.

My all time favorite hands down is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 15 fair. I love everything about this. I love how bright it is and I love the consistency and coverage of the product.

I have tried a lot of different concealers and I have yet to find one that does not crease. I do find I have a lot of problems with fine lines and dark circles under my eyes, so it is not really all that shocking. I always make sure to apply an eye cream before I highlight and always set the area really well. I should also mention that I also highlight my chin, middle on my nose, and a small portion of my forehead with all of the concealers I talked about in today's post.

Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post.

Affordable cleansing brush: Olay Professional Pro x Facial Cleansing Brush

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you one of my favorite skin care items. I know that there are a lot of high end versions of facial cleansing brushes on the market. They can be very expensive and the replacement heads for them are very pricey too. About six months ago I was going to look into getting a high end version and then I came across the Olay Professional Pro x Facial Cleansing Brush. I wanted to try it out because I thought if it did work it would save me a lot of money. I also found this on sale for fifty percent off, so I thought it would be a great time to buy it and put it to the test. Normally, this will cost around$30.00CAD.

In this set you get the facial cleansing brush, brush head, and the exfoliating renewal cleanser.

On the back of the box it says that their advanced cleansing system cleanses the skin and helps to maximize the immediate hydrating effectiveness of your anti-aging moisturizer. It also says that it offers deep cleaning and gentle exfoliation.

I have to agree with everything that it states to do. My skin feels so much smoother in the morning when I use this the night before. My moisturizers work a lot better and I feel like this does not harshly exfoliate my skin. I have not experienced any irritation with using the brush or the exfoliating cleanser. It's just an all around great set.

The brush is about the length of my hand. It isn't big and clunky, so it would be great for travel.

I am really impressed with this brush. I have been using it for awhile and I honestly would not try anything else. If it isn't broke then don't fix it, right?? This is a very affordable option and works amazing. I have seen such an improvement in my skin. My makeup goes on so much smoother because it really helps with the dry skin that I have an issue with. I have also noticed a huge difference in the size of my pores. They have shrunk a lot since I have first started using this.

The brush head is so soft and feels amazing on the skin. It has two speed settings with a rotating brush head. I only use the lowest setting, but that is just personal preference.

The exfoliating cleanser that comes with this is so great. You can buy it in a full size bottle, which I am going to do really soon. It makes the skin nice and smooth and really helps remove the dry skin without irritating it and making it burn. It is a very gentle product.

I use this brush everyday, twice a day. I use a variety of different cleansers and exfoliating products with it, and no matter what I use I am still very pleased.

It's amazing how much this brush really deep cleans your skin. The replacement heads are available to buy separately and are not pricey at all. I do believe it is around $10.00 for a replacement.

This is a really great drugstore find and a great addition to your skincare routine.

I really love reviewing and sharing with you all really great drugstore products. I am a die hard drugstore girl. I love my high end beauty products, but I will always be faithful to my drugstore finds. I really want to bring an affordability factor to my blog and show you that you can look great and take care of yourself if you are on a budget. I would really like to know what you all think about that. Is that something you are interested in me doing? If so, what are some products you would like me to review or if you have any blog post ideas please let me know and I will be happy to do them.

Thank you all so much for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post.

Favorite Drugstore Contour and Highlight Products PART ONE:Cream Contour

Hello Glam Dolls,
Welcome back to another post. This is going to be part one of a few blog posts about contouring and highlighting. I love to contour and highlight. It completely transforms your face and when I have a nice contour going on I feel so much more confident...and glam too.

Today I want to focus on what I use when I cream contour and highlight. I use many of things, but the ones I am going to mention are my go to products. Like I said, there will me many posts discussing this topic.

Something that a lot of people use to cream contour with are the Maybelline New York Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Sticks. I really love the way these look. They give you a very natural contour without being over done. They blend very easily and last for a really long time. I always apply a light coverage foundation on my face before using these, and always make sure to set them with a powder of your choice.

Contour color: 340 Cappuccino

Highlight Color: 110 Porcelain

Keep in mind that when it comes to highlighting and contouring, the colors that best suit me may not be right for you. They have a good range of colors to choose from so just be patient, play around, and find what color looks best on you.

Two other products I really love to use are the Flower Cosmetics Skincognito Stick Foundations. They are highly pigmented and pretty full coverage, so if you want to apply a foundation underneath that is entirely up to you and how dramatic you want your makeup to be. When I want a more glam contour and something more noticeable I use these two products. I also only use very little of the contour color at a time. It is very dark and highly pigmented.

Contour Color: SF8
Highlight Color: SF1

I have fair skin, so unless I am going for a really dramatic contour I tend to stay away from deep contour shades. If you are fair skinned as well, remember if your contour color is too dark it can come off as looking muddy and you do not want that.

When I self tan I only get a few shades darker, so the colors I use on a day to day basis still work on me :)

All of the products I have mentioned are extremely affordable and easy to get your hands on.

Part two to this series will be all about highlighting concealers and highlighting powders.

I hope that you are all having a great Monday and be sure to follow me on twitter and instagram @kategoesglam. I look forward to talking with you all.

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution

Hello Glam Dolls!

Micellar solutions seem to be all the rage lately, and it wasn't until recently that I decided to start trying some. The L'Oreal Gentle Micellar Solution claims that it will remove makeup and impurities, and sooth the skin. No rubbing, no rinsing necessary. It is suitable for face, eyes, and lips.

This solution is targeted for dry and sensitive skin, and I have both.

This is one of the most gentle makeup removers I have ever used. Sometimes when I use a really strong remover I find that my skin will burn a bit. It is not harsh at all, especially around the eye area. I haven't experienced any eye irritation or stinging from this at all. My skin feels smooth and very clean after I use it. Even though this is a drugstore product, don't let that fool you. This feels very luxurious and is fragrance free and hypoallergenic. If you have dry, sensitive skin I would highly recommend this. Some makeup removers can leave the skin very dry, this does the complete opposite.

I usually wear a lot of lip product. This solution removes it no problem. I loved this product so much that I went and bought two more bottles of it. I have tried using it on waterproof mascara and it takes it off great and you do not have to vigorously rub to remove all of your eye makeup.

I can't even begin to explain now much I really love this. You don't even have to rinse your face after using this. I have never tried something like that before. It really is a gem at the drugstore.

The only problem I have is with the bottle. If you are not careful then you can easily dispense too much. Be aware of that.

Have you tried this product. If you have please let me know in the comments below or start up a conversation with me on twitter or instagram @kategoesglam.

Thank you all so much for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post.

Budget Beauty: Fail OR Hail? Refillable Perfume Spray Bottle

Hello Dolls,
I love smelling nice. I am the girl that always has to have her perfume on. There is nothing more feminine and empowering than looking nice and smelling good. I usually drag with me a full size bottle of perfume, but it takes up so much space. I decided to try out this refillable perfume spray bottle when I seen it in the dollar store. I thought it would help free up some room in my purse.

One of the things I was worried about was this leaking and ruining my bag. Let me tell you, I am so glad I decided to test it out before I put this in my bag. I filled it up and before I went to bed I sat it on a cloth on my vanity. When I woke up the perfume was all leaked out of it. It would have ruined my purse. So ladies, when it comes to stuff like this save your money and buy a good one. It's not worth wrecking your bag over.

This was a big FAIL!!

Does anyone else get overly caution before they put things in their bag that might leak.??I am such a freak when it comes to things like that :)

Talk to you all in my next post.

My favorite makeup removing products (at the moment)

Hello Glam Dolls,
Today I want to share with you some of my favorite makeup removing products at the moment. I am forever changing it up so if are interested in me keeping you updated on what I am using then please leave a comment on this post or get in contact with me on twitter or instagram.

Removing your makeup is so important for your skin. Regardless how long of a day I have had, how tired, or how busy I am, I always remove whatever makeup I have on, even if it is just a little bit.

If I am really rushed and tired I just use a plain old makeup remover wipe. I make sure to go extra gentle on the eye area when using only a wipe, because you do not want to be tugging away at your beautiful lashes. The ones I have been using forever are the Equate oil free facial cleansing wipes. They are very cheap, around $4.00 a pack, and are always available when I go to Walmart to pick them up. You get 25 wipes in a package.

I have really been into micellar solutions lately. I use the Marcelle 3 in 1 micellar solution and the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution. Both are really great. There is no specific reason to why I use two different ones. I just like to rotate them. Your girl likes to keep things interesting :D If you are in a hurry this is another time friendly way to remove your makeup.

I have never tried a cleansing oil until recently. I use the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Radiance Sensational Cleansing Oil. I use this on my whole face, eye area included. It is nice and gentle, and leaves your skin nice and smooth.

You can follow up with a face wash if you like, if you have the time. Sometimes I do and other times I just rinse my face with warm water and continue on with the rest of my skincare routine.

One of the cleansers I have been loving lately is the L'Oreal Paris Purifying Gel Wash. It really helps get that last bit of makeup off of your skin. I always use my Olay Professional Pro X Facial Cleaning Brush with this product. It really helps to deep clean your skin. If you want me to do a full review on this brush please let me know.

I hope you all enjoyed reading. I am thinking about doing a full skin care routine. What do you think?

Thank you for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post

PICK MY STYLE APP: Should you pick this app?

Hello Glam Dolls,
I am pretty basic when it comes to which apps I have on my phone. I get by with the bare minimum. I heard about the PICK MY STYLE app and right away I was interested. I love anything fashion related, so it was worth checking it out to see what it was like. I am so glad that I did!

(I have not received any votes on this because I took the screen shot as soon as I uploaded this picture.)

What you do is you upload a fashion related picture. I decided to upload this one because I wanted to see what people thought of my new necklace. Before you upload you write what you want to ask. They will either pick it or kick it.

This is a great app that allows you to give and receive fashion advice. It's like having one of your fashion forward girlfriends with you at all times. Out shopping and not sure if you should get the shoes or leave them?? Uploaded it on the app and we will let you know. Not sure if your date night outfit is a go or a no? Uploaded the picture and see what we have to say.

I hope you all download this app. I know you will enjoy it and have fun with it as much as I am.

Thank you all so much for reading and I will talk to you all in my next post.
